TRANSITION is a 5-year project led by SSEN and funded via Ofgem’s Network Innovation Competition (NIC). The main goal of TRANSITION is to generate key learnings on the technical and market requirements needed to deploy the different flexibility services generated through the ENA’s Open Networks.
As part of my role as System Planning Engineer, I led the development of the network model used for the flexibility trials. This involved gathering the different BAU models from the Network and System Planning teams at SSEN, which are maintained in different software platforms, merging them into CIM format and validating the model.
Local Energy Oxfordshire (LEO) is a collaborative project between multiple partners, ranging from community-energy projects to world leading universities. Project LEO seeks to run real-life trials in Oxfordshire to understand how best to facilitate the participation of different stakeholders in flexibility markets. As one of the main partners, SSEN provides technical direction and input from the DNO perspective.
